2006-06-23 Hurricane Festival

This year, Sebastian and I visited the Hurricane together (last year, he went there alone and got a terrible cold due to the ugly weather).

Not as many as we'd hoped for, especially missing Muse because of the terrible storm that flooded the whole festival made us really sad, but the weather was too hot for much more. I would have burned my skin and brain!

Ready to leave: We'd found someone to drive us to the festival in an online-forum, so we didn't have to carry all our stuff to the train station.

This picture was taken in order to show my mum how spacy a tent can be. All our stuff and two airbeds fit in neatly.

The next day was already terribly hot. We spent the whole morning and early afternoon in the surroundings of our tent, playing cards, drinking water and eating fruits (at least I did).

Sleeping on the bench... Our neighbours kept us awake for most of the night, teenagers, too much booze and too much to smoke, singing and screaming all night long. Could have killed those little b*******. So we took a rest and almost slept through the Mando-Diao-concert.

Another evening with fabulous concerts, I really loved to see The Hives and The Strokes. Sigur Rós played that night, too, but we were too exhausted to see the whole performance. Hope they'll come to Germany again.

The next day was hot (AGAIN). We were really excited to see "Muse", but after the concert of "Wir sind Helden" a terrible storm came up and a torrential rain flooded the whole site.

We found our tent mostly unharmed, unlike our neighbours tent (not the noisy one, though). Some water had entered by the side, so my bag was really wet and heavy. We phoned our driver and decided to leave ASAP. We couldn't carry our whole stuff plus tent, so we left the tent behind. Anyways, the tent would never have fit into the car, it was too wet and wouldn't have fit into its bag. Sibi was so sorry to leave it behind, but hey, at least we got out of this mess the same night even though our car almost got stuck into the muddy field like many other cars, but thanks to some really great guys, that pushed us out, we made it home!
